AROMATHERAPY - AURACHAKRA

Each human being has a constant aura, also known as "teja" around him, which is in continuous motion, flickering throughout the body. The aura is reflected due to the activity of the insides of our mind, its particularly strong around people with great wisdom and exceptional qualities, and a single glance at them gives peace of mind. However this radiating aura can be viewed bypsychics and interpreted in many ways.

The aura is affected by our emotional, physical, mental condition. For example, the aura of a person with an illness lightens but that of a healthy person is very strong. Similarly when we are in a dejected mood the aura lightens but in happiness it grows stronger.

The aura is divided into three subparts. The outermost is the etheric layer, which is energised by the energy coming from outside the earth and its atmosphere. It is our life force and the total being depends on it. When we interact with people this part of the aura is reflected to them and to all the people around us. This is "prana", our life sustaining force. Any work done on the surface of our body affects this part of the aura. Application of scents, creams, oils and lotions strenghthens it.

The asral layer is the middle layer of the aura. As the name suggests this part is related to stars. Through the energy in this field we are able to interpret the happenings around us and hence lookout for ways to gain energy from them. The astral layer is gravely affected by our emotional condition. Regardless of the physical body a person's thoughts and feelings are reflected to others through this portion of the aura.

The innermost layer is the Soul. This is the basic life force which is not affected by any physical, emotional or mental condition. It cannot be harmed by any hazard or injury. However it completely depends upon a persons transcendental abilities. Its the storngest of all the three layers

Chakras

The system of chakras was developed by our ancient sages who were expert tantriks. The word "chakra" means wheel. There are seven chakras effecting the human body. These chakras effect us at both mental as well as physical levels. The chakras are present outside our body and are said to be the site of thought process and such related changes. They are also responsible for the appropriate functioning of our endocrine glands. The chakras also affect psychosomatic changes in a person, for example in a state of excitement or fear the functioning of the liver and thyroid gland is disturbed, leading to intense changes in th body. The chakras are the junctions of energy flow from one body to another.

The activity of our body depends upon the harmony and balance between the chakras. If totally balanced they provide the individual with vigor and health.

The chakras are present in various forms. If we meditate and try to discipline ourself energy, the chakras glow and radiate light. However if we are dejected the chakras become dim and dull.

The Seven Chakras
The first chakra is the "muladadhara chakra". In males this chakra pulsates in between the anus and the genitals. But in females, it pulsates between the uterus and the cervix. If this chakra is dim or obstructed, it causes fatigue, pain, neuralgia of hip and thigh, back ache, constipation, abdominal pain.

The second chakra is the "svadhishana chakra". This chakra governs the activity of reproductive organs in both males and females. This chakra gives sexual drive and energy. This chakra pulsates throughout the pubis and when obstructed may lead to severe problems like lack of sexual drive, impatience, diseases of the urinary tract, impotence.

The third chakra is the "manipura chakra". This chakra is present in the lower thorax and diaphragm, on the solar plexus. It is responsible for the accurate functioning of the endocrine glands present in this area such as pancreas etc. The blockage of this wheel leads to several problems such as diabetes, diorrhea, acidity. Mentally it affects the ego and the person is liable to become egoistic, arrogantand selfish.

The fourth chakra is the "anahata chakra". This chakra is present in the upper thorax or the chest and is the central chakra, as a result it effects our heart and the thymus gland. Blockage of this chakra leads to heart troubles, lack of growth, mentally it causes the person to become an introvert, prefering to be alone.

The fifth chakra is the"vishuddha chakra". This chakra is present in the neck and throat region. When obstructed it may led to troubles in voice and hearing capacity, stammeringand lack of proper expression.

The next chakra is the "ajana chakra". Its located in between the two eyebrows or the temple. It affects our thinking process, ability to interpret things and the thought process. Its associated with the accurate activity of the glands in this region such as the pituitary. If this chakra is blocked it brings about severe headaches, migranes, bad vision.

The seventh chakra is the"sahasrara chakra". Its present at the centre of the head. This chakra controls the activity of the pineal gland. This wheel brings about the effect of meditation and gives the person divine powers. If obstructed it makes the person selfish, ignorant and dull.
