Beauty Love and Marriage According to Horoscope

BEAUTY, LOVE AND MARRIAGE The 7th and 8th houses of a female's horoscope reveal her marital happiness, the qualities of the husband, and the period of married life. The 1st house of the horoscope reveals the complexion of the body, general features including the attractivities of the eyes, the facial expressions, beauty of the hair, the softness of the body etc., which go to add to the beauty and personal charm of a lady. These also include grace, tenderness, gait, her peculiar physical and mental charm.

In India, in the last decade or so, there has been a revolution in the thinking process of the fairer sex. More and more women are taking up professional careers and are fearlessly interacting with men, whether at office or in social circles. The sectors which were hitherto the monopoly of men have been invaded by the fairer sex, who are making their mark in every walk of life. Divorce and re-marriage are also becoming very common. Nearly 35% of the horoscopes of ladies which were examined by the writer during 1992-93 had problems in their marital life. These were the horoscopes of the working ladies, who had made a mark in their respective professional fields and moved ahead in life but the only negative factor was that their 7th angle of marital happiness was under some sort of affliction.

In general female/natives born in an odd sign (Masculine sign) with the Moon also in an odd sign, would normally lack modesty, grace etc. (The odd signs are Aries, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Sagittarius, Aquarius). She would be a strong, masculine woman and specially if this happens in strong malefic Ascendant such as Leo, without the benefic aspects. In such cases, she is advised to take up a professional career, rather than suffer through the rigours of marital discord.

If either one of the two -— the Ascendant and the Moon Ascendant — be an odd sign and the other, an even sign, (feminine sign), the rigours of marital dicord would be somewhat tolerable and the couple can maintain their marital ties, in spite of periodical separations which may be for professional or business reasons. But if both the Ascendant and the Moon Ascendant be even signs, (faminine signs). (The even signs art' Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn, Pisces). The female native would be truly feminine retaining all the charm and attraction of the fairer sex which will become far greater if there is the benefic aspect of some other planets.

Venus is the significator of love and affection, wealth, comforts, ornaments, passions and pleasures. And if Venus be placed in the 1st house, she would be able to magnetise others with her charm and beauty. She would be intense in love affairs and have passions of a very high order. If, however, there are more than one malefic plants in the Ascendant, the native may not care much for the marital life or husband but will be more devoted to her professional career and may have numerous love affairs/attachments. If the Ascendant and the Moon are in odd signs and receive the aspect of malefics, the lady would be outgoing, bold, courageous and would interact and mix freely with the opposite sex. If the 7th house (or the setting Navamsa) belongs to benefic planet, the famale native will have an impressive personality and slim hips. If the Moon is placed in a sign ruled by Saturn, she will be very outgoing and assert her personality and will not be averse to having sexual pleasures and will cross all barriers of age, caste and creed with ease.

The placement of Venus in 4th, 5th, 7th, 10th and 11th houses of her natal chart, would also enhance her social image and make her skilful in amorous sports and make her fond of music, fine arts, ornaments and good colourful and attractive dresses. Mars and Venus conjunction in the 5th house from the Ascendant makes a female native more dynamic, pleasant, lovable and romantic. It makes her beautiful with extra feminine qualities, versatility and sex appeal. Mars, Venus and the Moon conjoined similarly in the 5th angle of the birth chart make a female native modest, sweet and highly feminine, with beauty being amply and highly exhibited. The combination of Mars/ Mercury/Venus makes a lady more sexually active. Such a native can easily seduce the opposite sex in seconds.

Natives having Mars/Mercury in the 3rd angle of their horoscope having no benefic influences could have doubtful intentions and their manoeuvres should be watched. These two planets could make the natives best administrators, surgeons, senior executives and managers. Venus/Mercury/the Moon in dual houses (Pisces, Gemini, Virgo and Sagittarius) ojr in the seventh angle of natal chart makes a native unealistic in her intentions and dealings with the opposite sex and she might sail in rough seas in her marital/personal life.

JUPITER, THE GREAT BENEFACTOR While analysing a natal chart, the following factors are to be essentially considered for understanding a planet like the great Jupiter — his mood and functioning and its subtle influence is felt on human beings.

(a) Natural assigned portfolios,

(b) Functional duties,

(c) Strength,

(d) Major and sub-periods,

(e) Transits of planets over natal position. No planet is so greatly eulogised in astrological parlance as Jupiter. Savants of astrology have also accepted him as a benefic planet. He is thought to be the greatest, the wisest, the finest and the most august member of our Solar system, excluding, of course, the Sun, which is beyond comparison. He earns high commendation for the nature of the portfolios assigned to him and his dominant role in blessing the natives with all that is best in life.

Jupiter is the only planet which represents spiritual excellence as well as human traits. He affects us more forcefully at all levels of our existence vis-a-vis the physical, the mental and the spiritual, than any other planet. Without his divine blessings, it is difficult to lead a comfortable cosy life and be bestowed with status and recognition. A benefic and strong Jupiter is a great asset in a chart. He is thus a significator of wisdom, prosperity, wealth, good conduct, religious fervour, reverence for the elders, Sastras, interest in the occult, law and justice, pilgrimage, teaching, truth, morality, philanthropy, charitable disposition, joviality, expansion, abundance optimism, the company of the learned analytical ability, solemnisation of religious ceremonies, especially wedding, progeny, creative genius, compassion, sense.

It controls liver, adipose tissue, circulation of blood in the arteries, fat in human body, thighs and feet. He also signifies some important houses of a natal chart, e.g., the 2nd, the 5th, the 9th, the 10th and the 11th. Jupiter is basically a Satvik (noble-minded) planet. Being so, he gives the native a strong aversion towards baser motives and evil ways. A look at his significant role reveals the fact that a benefic and well placed Jupiter is in no way against the usually sought material prosperity and worldly attainments. Jupiter rarely puts the natives to misery.

No doubt, Jupiter is the main propeller for a native's achievements but this does not mean that he "relegates the importance of the material welfare and worldly achievement to an unimportant place." This is an incorrect education. A benefic and well placed Jupiter does take the native towards divine and spiritual interests, but he doesnot do so at the cost of making his life unworthy of living. He blesses us with strong will power and the ability giving us a proper, right direction and follow a harmonious path. There is no compulsion from his side to renounce this world.

He restrains us from getting entrapped in the unscrupulous manoeuvres. He lends a certain refinement to keep us away from any activity which belies human dignity and moral values. He enhances our zest to live, lending an added impetus to life and help one and all with a certain zeal and devotion to do good to others. He doesn't make us disinterested in life, rather he activates the urge for knowledge, wisdom, travels, and action. It is he who alone encourages us to discharge our social responsibilities in a decent and honourable manner and clear our debts, which the Sastras speak of. In a nutshell, he is not against our fruitful life on this planet, Earth. The Jupiterian influence has been found to be providing providential assistance to the natives when efforts fail to show to the desired effects. But it doesn't come to all of us.

When Jupiter is placed in the 10th house in his own sign, viz., Sagittarius or Pisces, or rules this house and also aspects it, he can grant his special benevolence and smiles on several occasions. On the other hand, a weak or an afflicted Jupiter is a drawback. In such a case, the native may lack the urge for divine excellence and finer humane traits. His mind becomes somewhat polluted, and his soul is stifled. To him, the ends are more important than the means. He is not repentant of his misdemeanour. Selfishness, self-centredness and lust for money and power alone dominate his mind. Legal disputes trouble him. He needs to have self-control. He may tend to be harsh, cruel extravagant, over-optimistic, entertaining false hopes and liking cheap popularity. Children could cause him a lot of anxiety. He-could commit wrong deeds knowingly and face their consequences for a long time.

He is slave to his abnormal sexual urges. He may be an athlete by nature. He may revile God, religion and places of worship. He tends to ignore his social obligations. He rerely behaves in a dignified manner. He a drag on human dignity and honour. His life could lack finesse and grace.

A weak and afflicted Jupiter when associated with the 6th house, its lord and significator, Saturn (in case of ailments), or with Mars, Rahu and Ketu also makes the native suffer physically and undergo prolonged illnesses. The possibility of this kind of affliction is more during his sub-period, provided he has also established some contact with the Ascendant, or its lord, or the Sun or the Moon, as they govern our general health and vitality.

The native's ailments may be due to liver disorders, pleurisy, flatulence, abscesses, blood poisoning, adiposity, diabetes, eczema, skin troubles arising out of poor circulation of blood, leprosy, tumours, jaundice, cerebral congestion. Jupiter rules two signs of the Zodiac-Sagittarius and Pisces having different traits. Sagittarius is an enterprising and fiery sign. It inclines the natives towards philosophy, occult studies, science, religion, a good personality, conventional views, sympathy, honesty, hatred towards none, fondness for liberty and external show, freedom from hypocrisy and well disciplined life. It is also a sign of social obligations and responsibilities. Pisces is a watery sign, somewhat mystical, but with a great sense of morality, based on purity and high principles.

It rules religiosity, stoicism, corpulence, rigidity in social customs and traditions, orthodox views, restlessness, frugality, dependence and fair dealings. Jupiter feels equally convenient when placed in either of these two houses. When he occpuies Sagittarius, he has comparatively more strength to make headway in worldly affairs so that his social and family responsibilities are executed decently. Therein lies his spiritual gratification. When Jupiter is in Pisces, the native is seen engaged in making offerings and homage to God Almighty and places his full confidence in him. From there, he discharges his responsibilities towards his family, society and country. He progresses spiritually, more than he does in mundane affairs.

He will have no problem of money and finances till his end. But he should not indulge in risky ventures particularly in the middle part of his life, i.e., between 41-45 years. When the Ascendant lord, the Moon (ruling our thoughts, emotions and reactions) and Mercury (ruling over intelligence and discrimination) are placed in Jupiter's sign, they get coloured in their traits, though not totally, and then the native is observed having them reflected in his versatile personality. But there should be no adverse influences on them, otherwise they are wiped out to a great extent. Jupiter is exalted in the 5° of Cancer, owned by the Moon. Jupiter's fundamental nature harmonises with the results allotted to the 4th house of the natal chart, such as mother, domestic peace, general happiness, educaion and comforts (house, property, real estate vehicles and ar:icles of luxury). A mother is man's first teacher. He learns the sense of love, sacrifice, kindness, tolerance etc., from his mother.

And this is what a benefic Jupiter has to give to the native when he is placed in the Moon's sign in the natural Zodiac, the signs and the bhavas are identical. A planet in exaltation may not enjoy a sound footing, as he has to depned on his depositor's, i.e., the lord of the house where the planet is placed), strength to be of any real advantage to the native. The Moon is certainly a weak depositor for the Deva Guru. For a Sagittarius Ascendant, Jupiter claim to be exalted becomes bleak, as he has to lie in the 8th bhava. The Pisces Ascendant is that way luckier, as Jupiter occupies the 5th bhava. Despite all this, it is not harmful to have an exalted Jupiter, irrespective of its placement.

If Jupiter, as Lord of Ascendant is in the eighth house it confers Raja-yoga, e.g., name, fame, wealth and immense happiness. Jupiter is consequently debilitated in the 5° of Capricorn, an earthly sign. Saturn rules over Capricorn. Capricorn is the 10th sign {bhava) of the Zodiac, governing business, status, profession, position and prestige. Jupiter's basic nature does not suit this sign much. But its placement in this sign accentuates wordly affairs, and the native has a dedicated approach and believes in nothing but hard work.

It is not, on the whole, a happy sign for him to be in. He loses much of his glory in this sign. Jupiter's Moolatrikona sign is Sagittarius (0° -10° ). Frankly speaking, the Moolatrikona position of a planet (i.e., position sign owned by it) does not serve any real purpose, except that it looks fascinating to mention it in astrological parlance. It is difficult to say why part of Moola Nakshatra is not included in Jupiter's Moolatrikona segment. Ketu interacts with Jupiter when he is in Sagittarius upto 13°-20° of it. Ketu helps Jupiter half¬way-only in religious/spiritual matters.

As regards Jupiter's placement in other signs, it may be clarified that he does modify and boost their respective traits. For example, Aries is the fiery, headstrong and forceful sign, and its lord is Mars who is Jupiter's ally. Jupiter checks its rash and erratic characteristics. The sign occupied by him also influences him in some way or the other. The same sign, Aries, makes him more dynamic, energetic and dashing, with a lot of initiative and drive. It is indeed strange that Jupiter, too, gets combust when it moves backwards or forwards of the Sun. Some learned astrologers are not quite optimistic about a combust Jupiter, and think him to be a powerless planet. It is a debatable point that all that it denotes or signifies as a significator is destroyed wholly or partially, depending upon its proximity to the Sun. This view is not wholly convincing as empirical facts go against it.

Combustion is, no doubt, a technical flaw in a planet, but it does not make him totally ineffective. Most of its significations are not nullified. Such a Jupiter generally fails. The significations likely to be affected adversely are to be sorted out carefully, taking into account the bhavas which also rule them. Jupiter remains retrograde for a period of 120 days. He generally tends to become retrograde when in the 5th bhava from the Sun and resumes direct motion on entering the 9th bhava. Sarvartha Chintamani states that the ruling period of retrograde Jupiter behaves oddly, particularly during his major sub-periods, causing uncertainties about all that he happens to govern in the natal charts, besides his own karakatzvas.

Results expected of him, even if he is strong when jundged by the other methods, may or may not take place. Some delays are also likely. All these factors are due to his slow movement. Another view held is that the position of a retrograde planet in a house or a sign is intended to indicate its basic characteristics, that is, whether the planet is functioning as benefic or malefic whilst its location for the previous house (its aspects) should also be considered backward. Jupiter, I he t ,)r,ii Bnirfm tot are the functional aspects of a planet. It may be stated that a planet should not be considered as benefic or malefic simply on the basis of his ruling this or that bhava. In a birth chart no house of chart is totally inauspicious whether it be the 8th or the 9th in addition to the planets owning the 6th, the 8th and the 12th houses could cause only the normal obstacles, provided they are strong unafflicted, occupy their own bhavas.

It is the affliction or weakness of the planet under consideration which matters most. There is need to make a slight deviation from this view while judging the lordship of the 6th, 8th and 12th bhavas, as when they rule, both good and inauspicious significations get accentuated, whereas the inauspicious ones get subdued. When Jupiter rules any of the bhavas, the 6th, 8th, and 12th bhavas, as they rule both the good and inauspicious significations. If their lords are strong-unafflicted, their positive significations get accentuated, whereas the inauspicious ones get subdued. When Jupiter rules any of these bhavas, 6th, 8th, and 12th, and is also weak-afflicted, the adverse influence caused by him during his major sub-periods is comparatively much less than that produced if the Sun, Mars, Saturn, Rahu and Ketu were their rulers. The jolts given by Jupiter are bearable because of his inherent benefic and benevolent nature.

AUSPICIOUS YOGAS FOR FINANCIAL PROSPERITY The second house in a birth chart indicates wealth. The strength of this house, its lord and its indicator must be gauged to know the extent to which the native will be favoured with regard to the acquisition of wealth and riches. In addition to the strength of the second house, the strength of the 10th and 11th houses must be considered. While the strength of the Moon in a male horoscope determines his general fortune, the position of the Sun in a female horoscope is relevant for determining her fortune. The placement of natural benefics like Jupiter, Venus and Mercury helps in analyzing the strength or otherwise of a chart with regard to financial prosperity."

If the 7th and 8th houses are well placed, the native's financial position and status improves after marriage. If Jupiter is well placed in the eighth angle, he gets gains through inheritance. If the Ascendant lord is not well placed in the 6th, 8th or 12th house, without the benefic influence of Jupiter, it adversely affects the financial fortune of the native. Malefics in the second house, without any support of the benefics, also adversely affect one's financial prosperity. According to Maharishi Jaimini and a noted astrologer, Dr. B.V. Raman, the Arudha Ascendant and the planetary dispositions in reference to this Ascendant have tangible bearing on the financial status of the native. The Arudha Ascendant is the sign arrived at by counting as many signs from the Ascendant Lord as the Ascendant Lord is removed from the Ascendant.

The influence of Rahu on the 6th house adversely affects the enthusiasm of a person but it does help him to acquire fertile imagination and in-depth knowledge about the persons whom he has to deal with. The exchange of the Lord of the 2nd house of wealth with the lord of the 11th house of gains causes Mahalakshmi Yoga. While the general luck is determined from the 9th house, savings and the accumulation of wealth are determined from the 2nd house. The second house indicates the bank balance and wealth, the 9th house the general luck and the 11th house gains and fulfilment of desires and success in business ventures. The 8th house indicates money and gains acquired through inheritance, or gains through the spouse.

The 5th house is not only the house of creative intelligence and love affairs but it is also the house of windfalls and gains. If the lord of the 6th house is exalted in the Ascendant, it can cause the richness of the highest order.Mercury is a lord of not only finances but also the lord of intelligence, courage and intuition. If Mercury is well placed in a birth chart, it is a positive factor for success in business and financial prosperity Mercury in the 8th house causes tremendous gains through inheritance, financial prosperity and eminence in life. An exalted Mercury in any chart is very good for ensuring the financial stability of a native as also gains through intellectual vocations. Similarly, Venus in the 12th house confers wealth and luxuries.

If the native has three or more planets in their exaltation, or own sign, and these planets are in angular houses, it is very good for the status and financial position of the native. It is termed a Maharaja Yoga.

Other Considerations for the Accrual of Wealth are :

(i) A native is very lucky in money and finances if Jupiter is in Cancer, Sagittarius or Pisces i.e. its own or exalted signs.

(ii) Mars though debilitated in Cancer and exalted in Capricorn, in both cases bestows wealth and good fortune.

(iii) The Sun in Sagittarius, a dual sign, makes one rich.

(iv) Jupiter and Mercury in the 2nd house bless the native with enormous wealth. A well-placed Jupiter in the 2nd, 4th, 5th, 9th and 11th houses causes accumulation of wealth.

(v) Benefics in the 8th house cause gains through lottery, windfall and inheritance.

(vi) Benefics in the 2nd, 4th, 9th and 11th houses make one affluent and rich.

(vii) Benefics in the 5th house confer honour, position and prestige as also wealth.
