7th House: Represents the spouse and marital happiness. Affliction here can cause separation or widowhood.

Besides what has already been explained in this chapter giving planetary influence causing death of spouse, which means death of wife or husband unless specifically mentioned, the following planetary positions in the chart of a lady, are said to be create widowhood.

1. Conjunction of 8th lord and Ascendant lord in 12th house and malefics aspecting 8th house.

2. 7th and 8th lord joining together in any sign may cause widowhood as per "Stree-Jatak" worse if placed in 12th.

3. Mars in 7th house in sign of Cancer may cause widowhood as per "B. Kutuhalam".

4. Rahu in 7th and 7th lord with Sun aspected by 8th lord

5. 7th lord joins with Saturn and aspected by Mars and the Moon joins Rahu in 8th house gives widowhood.

6. 7th house and its lord tucked between two malefic planets

7. Mars in 8th house with 8th lord, Ascendant in evil navamsa - "(B- Kutuhalam)"

8. Rahu joins Saturn or Moon in 7th or 8th house

9. Rahu in Ascendant, Mars in 12th or 8th house with or aspected by Malefic or malefics in 2nd & 8th house

10. 7th lord placed in unfavourable house i.e. 6th or 8th or 12th and Mars joins Saturn in 7th or 8th or even one in 7th and other in 8th

21. A planet in debilition in 7th house in a cruel sign.

22. Conjunction of 7th and 8th lords in 8th house may give widowhood or she may be lost. If malefics aspect this conjunction danger is increased.

23. If a girl is married when Sun & Moon are opposite to each other i.e. 180° apart (this happens on Full Moon day- called Kranti - Samya) may become widow according to "Sarvagraha".

24. 7th and 2nd houses in case of a man and 7th and 8th house in case of women if occupied by malefics, may cause death of spouse.

25. Mars in 4th house from Moon in lady's chart kills spouse according to "Varahmihir". If he does not die, she may leave the husband under forced circumstances.

26. Fiery Planets e.g. Sun, Mar, Saturn or Ketu in the 7th from Moon may cause widowhood as per "Brihat Parasari Hora".

27. Death of partner is also indicated by

a) Capricorn in 7th occupied by Jupiter (i.e. 6th lord)

b) Scorpio in 7th occupied by Venus (i.e. 6th lord)

c) Taurus in 7th - Mercury (8th lord) aspects it.

d) Pisces in 7th Saturn (6th lord) aspects it.

e) Virgo in 7th - Jupiter (6th lord) aspects it.

Note i) Malefics in 7th and 8th house indicate widowhood but benefics in 9th house or a strong 9th house otherwise, may avert it.

ii) If in the chart of a lady, Jupiter stays in Kendra or Kona aspected by benefics or otherwise strong or being lord of benefic house or being in own sign or Varga can avert the mishap.

28. Malefics in 2nd and 8th in the chart of a woman, she can't die Suhagan i.e. before her husband.

29. Saturn in own Trimsamsa in ladies chart may give death of spouse. This happens when Saturn is 6° to 10 in odd sign or 21° to 25° in even sign.

30. If in birth chart of a lady Cancer is rising in Ascendant in Saturn Navamsa (i.e. 21° to 25°) husband may die as she may connive with enemy side
