In traditional Vastu and Muhurta practices, certain combinations of weekday, Nakshatra and lunar Tithi are considered significant when selecting an auspicious time for important activities. Siddha Yoga and Amrit Yoga are among the traditional combinations discussed for such purposes.

What Are Siddha and Amrit Yogas?

Siddha Yoga and Amrit Yoga are traditional Muhurta concepts used when considering the suitability of a particular time for important activities. These combinations are determined through the relationship between the weekday, Nakshatra and lunar Tithi.

According to the traditional material presented on this page, when a particular day combines with a specific Nakshatra or lunar Tithi, the day may acquire a more favourable quality for selected activities. The combinations are therefore useful as a reference when studying auspicious timing.

Siddha Yoga

Traditional Siddha Yoga combinations are identified through specific weekday, Nakshatra and Tithi relationships.

Amrit Yoga

Amrit Yoga is discussed within the traditional framework of auspicious timing and Muhurta selection.

Ravi Yoga

Important Auspicious and Malefic Combinations

The following detailed traditional material is retained from the original Astroshastra Siddha & Amrit Yoga reference page.

SIDDHA & AMRIT YOGAS:

_ When a day combines with a particular star or a particular Lunar tithi, the day acquires most benefic directional strength. These yogas are as under:

Tuesday Aslesha, Kritika, Ashvini, U.Bhadrapada 3,8,13(Jaya)
Wednesday Hasta, Kritika, Rohini, Anuradha, Margasirsa 2,7,12(Bhadra)
Thursday Ashvini, Pushya, Punarbasu, Anuradha, Revati 5,10,15(Purna)
Friday Ashvini, Shravan, Punarbasu, Anuradha, Revati 1,6,11(Nanda)
Satruday Svati, Shravan, Rohini 4,9,14(Rikta)

Exception: No entry into the new building or house or construction on Tuesday with Asvini star or even lunar tithi & 9 tithi and also Tuesday, Sunday & Saturday.

Ravi Yoga: When Moons star is in 4,9,6,10,13,20 star from Suns star on any day.

Abhijit Yoga: This yogs falls on mid-day point between the Sun rise & Sun set duration. This is for about 12 minutes before & after the mid day.

Malefic Combination: Additional Malefic combinations, prohibited for any activity pertaining to house or any other building are as under. All these malefic yogas must be avoided.

Bhadra Tithi: Considered malefic for all important activities. It should be avoided except at times when it is considered benefic. Find out as under:**

Bhadra is most malefic when Moon sign is: 4, 5, 11, 12

Bhadra is Benefic- Ordinary when Moon sign is : 1,2,3,8

Bhadra is Benefic - Ordinary when Moon sign is: 6, 7, 9, 10

When Jupiter, Venus or Moon are combust viz 12 degree before & after from Suns longitude.

When Jupiter, is old (before combustion) or child (after combustion is over).

When Jupiter is in Leo or Capricorn.

When Jupiter is Retrograde & being fast /Retrograde enters in the previous sign.

When Jupiter is Atichari (very fast) & enters the next sign within a year.

When Jupiter & Sun combines in anyone sign.

When Jupiter is in Leo sign & occupies the same Navamsa.

Adhimas (extra month). When there is no Suns Sankranti in any lunar month.

When there are only 13 days in a Paksha.

When there is malefic kal- hora during day.

When there is Eclipse in any part of India.

When any person has died in family.

When the wife or any other woman in the family is pregnant.

Shradh day (Tithi) of parents or close relatives.

When any child is born in the family.

When any woman in the family is having menses.

Panchakas should be avoided specially in in construction.

When the owner has a most malefic dream. When any planet, being Retrograde, has entered the previous sign. Rikta tithi (4. 9. 14) should be avoided.

Ascendant & Navamsa in 1, 4, 7, 10 sign.

When Moon is either before or after the Sun & Mars.

The sign of owner & house should not occupy,6, 8, 12 houses which causes, poverty, dispute or death.

Avoid weak Sun, Moon, Jupiter & Venus in gochar, synchronizing at the time of construction or Greh Prevesh (Combust, debilitated, relation with separating planets). Cause death of owner, or his wife.

Malefic transit of Planets from Moons sign of the owner:

Stars (Nakshatras) of solar & lunar eclipse appeared during the current year (6 months for total eclipse & 3 months for partial eclipse.

Avoid Retrogarde planet in Ascendant , 4th house & 10th house.

Avoid birth star, birth month, birth lunar tithi & birthday of the owner.

Avoid Rahu Kalam.

Avoid Ascendant & Ascendant Lord in Sandhi.

Avoid any Ascendant, Ascendant Lord, 4th house & 4th Lord with Sun, Saturn & Rahu & also obstructive planets.

Avoid evil planets in 2nd & 12th house.

Avoid Moon in 6, 8, 12 house.

Avoid malefic navamsa of Ascendant lord.

Avoid Vish Ghatis & Mrityu Ghatis of each star.

Avoid 1, 3, 5, 7 stars from the birth star of the owner.

Avoid Suns Sankranti, eg. When Sun leaves one sign & enters into the next sign. The period (malefic) is for about 6 hours & 24 minutes before & after entry into the new sign when Sankrasnti falls on Sunday, Tuesday or Saturday-it causes loss of wealth & sickness.

Avoid Sapra and Pasa Drekkana.

Avoid Moon opposite Venus, Jupiter with Saturn, Jupiter aspected by Saturn, Jupiter with Venus or Venus or Venus with Ketu.

Avoid conjunction of Saturn & Mars in Ascendant.

Avoid Venus in 6th house most malefic.

Avoid Mars in 8th house- most malefic.

Avoid Moon in 6, 8, 12 houses.

Avoid Ascendant sign at the time of election which is 8th sign in the owners natal chart.

Avoid Kharjoor dosha, Ekargal dosha, Latha dosha, Vaidruti dosha,Pat dosha, Upgrah dosha, Dagd tithi dosha.

Gandanth: The following position of Star, Sign & Tithi are considered malefic

Last 48 minutes of Aslesha, Jyestha & Revati Stars.

First 48 minutes of Magha, Moola & Asvini Stars.

Last 48 minutes of Cancer, Scorpio & Pisces Sign.

First 48 minutes of Leo, Sagittarius & Aries Sign.

Last 48 minutes of 5, 10, 15 Lunar tithies of bright half.

First 48 minutes of 11, 6, 1 Lunar tithies of dark half.

Avoid these malefic lunar months- Jyaishtha, Asadha, Bhadrapada, Asvina, Margasirasa,Pausa & Phalgun.
